Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 August 2026
Affordable Housing Hub (“AHH”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides housing information, property and location research tools, saved housing searches, application tracking and optional housing alerts. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use affordablehousinghub.net.
Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, account credentials, preferred housing location, search radius, household size, bedroom needs, housing preferences, move timeframe, saved properties, application status, follow-up dates, private notes, optional mobile number and your communication or provider-connection choices.
We also collect routine technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, referring pages, requested pages, timestamps, cookie identifiers and site-performance or security logs where these are generated by WordPress, analytics, security, caching, advertising or consent-management services used on the site.
How we use information
We use information to operate and secure AHH, provide accounts and saved housing tools, rank housing matches, deliver alerts you request, remember preferences, improve our housing data and site experience, prevent abuse, measure performance and comply with legal obligations.
Private housing-search information, application status and notes are attached to your account and are not displayed on public property pages.
Housing alerts and mobile numbers
Email housing alerts are optional. If enabled, AHH may email you when newly added housing records appear relevant to your saved search. You can turn these alerts off in My Housing.
A mobile number is optional. AHH does not currently send SMS housing alerts merely because a number has been supplied. If an SMS service is introduced, we will request appropriate separate activation or consent before using your number for that service.
Connecting you with housing providers
Permission for AHH to help connect you with suitable housing providers is separate from permission to receive AHH housing alerts. Selecting that option does not give housing providers blanket access to your account or private notes. We will only use this permission for relevant housing assistance and you can withdraw it from your account.
Housing information and sensitive circumstances
Please avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information in free-text notes. AHH is a housing information service and is not intended to store medical records, government identification documents, bank details or other highly sensitive documentation.
Legal bases
Depending on your location and the activity involved, we process information because it is necessary to provide a service you requested, because you have given consent, because we have legitimate interests in operating and protecting AHH, or because we must meet a legal obligation.
Sharing information
We do not sell your private My Housing notes or application history. We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyse, email, cache or operate the site, subject to appropriate controls. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, AHH or others.
If you separately ask or permit AHH to connect you with a suitable housing provider, relevant contact and housing-search information may be shared for that purpose. Any future provider-contact feature will remain subject to the choices presented to you at the time.
Advertising and analytics
AHH may use analytics and advertising technologies. Where required, non-essential cookies or similar technologies will be controlled through the site’s consent mechanism. Advertising partners may process device or browsing information according to their own notices and applicable law.
Data retention
We retain account and housing-search information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal or security requirements and resolve disputes. You may remove saved properties, change alert choices and edit housing preferences through your account. We may retain limited records where required for security, fraud prevention, consent evidence or legal compliance.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also change housing-alert and provider-connection choices within My Housing.
Children
AHH is not designed to collect personal information directly from children. Accounts should be created and managed by adults or by users legally able to use the service in their jurisdiction.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account credentials confidential and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
International use
AHH may be used in the United States, United Kingdom and elsewhere. Hosting and service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as AHH develops. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.
